Intellectual outputs
As part of The Way of Nature project, the partnership developed a set of innovative Intellectual Outputs aimed at strengthening the quality and professionalism of youth work in Europe. These outputs respond to the growing need for holistic approaches that address the psychological, emotional, and developmental needs of young people.
The core outputs include a description of the model “Nature-based map of Human Psyche” (Plotkin B., 2013), adapted for use in Youth work; a methodology for assessment and addressing psychological developmental needs of youth; a collection of nature-based practices; program templates for 3-, 5-, and 7-day outdoor programs, and a comprehensive set of session outlines. All materials are grounded in the Nature-Based Map of the Human Psyche (NBMHP) developed by Bill Plotkin and Animas Valley Institute and translated into practical tools for the youth work context.
The outcomes are organized in two comprehensive publications:
- THE WAY OF NATURE – Manual for facilitators
This manual contains theoretical knowledge about the NBMHP, the collection of practices and Assessment Methodology.
You can download the manual on this link – https://learningforchange.net/knowledge-base/manual-the-way-of-nature/
- THE WAY OF NATURE – Session outlines and Sample programs
Heer are the ready-to-use session outlines for the nature-based practices described in the Manual and the template group programs.
You can download the publication on this link – https://learningforchange.net/knowledge-base/the-way-of-nature-session-outlines-and-sample-programs/
By integrating elements of developmental and ecocentric psychology with nature-based learning, the Intellectual Outputs provide ready-to-use resources that can be applied by youth workers across Europe. These materials support mental health, social inclusion, employability, and sustainable personal development, particularly for young people with fewer opportunities.
