ACT’EVE
The Act’EVE project aims at training and capacitating young people, youth workers and territorial networks on skills for sustainability, in line with the principles of the European Bauhaus and the Green Deal. It activates creative learning processes involving young “volunteers for the environment” as protagonists of social transformation, mobilising them as “Green Ambassadors” to promote green regenerative projects. The ACT’EVE methodology is based on an integrated and innovative approach that combines digital pedagogy, micro-learning, training paths and ‘youth-driven’ volunteering actions.
CONTEXT
Within the framework of the priorities of the Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps programmes, the topic of sustainability is one of the priority areas and is promoted through policy instruments such as the European Green Deal, Youth Objective #10 ‘Green and Sustainable Europe’ and the Council of Europe’s work on developing green skills in youth work. The Act’EVE project fits into this context by responding to an emergency urgently felt by the new generations: the climate crisis and the sense of powerlessness associated with it, with the aim of providing young people with tools and spaces to design their own (youth-driven) paths, which offer concrete and constructive answers. The project promotes sustainable innovation and social change on a local and European level by leveraging creativity, resilience and initiative to counter misinformation and promote a solid and active awareness.
The project responds to the 3 pillars of the EU Youth Strategy 2019-2027:
MOBILISING: promoting access to information with quality content, adapted to the language of young people, supporting their civic engagement and direct participation in civil society;
CONNECTING: providing tools to connect and interact with other like-minded young people from their own relational circles, promoting engagement in volunteering, intergenerational understanding, learning mobility;
RESPONSIBILISING: supporting the empowerment of young people through supporting quality, innovation and recognition of their own regenerative initiatives for social transformation.
